The Food Bank of the Albemarle is in the running for a donation of 30,000 pounds of protein from Tyson’s Chicken. They serve one of the poorest and most food-insecure areas in our state. They’re also been whacked twice this year, by the April tornadoes and flooding from Hurricane Irene.

It’s a national campaign and no other NC areas are in contention. They lack the population numbers of the other national competitors to solicit for votes. Your help would be greatly appreciated!!! (thanks Lindsey)
