The Raleigh-Cary area is the 46th largest metropolitan statistical area in the country with an estimated population of nearly 1.18 million, according to an analysis of federal demographic trends.
Raleigh is the second largest MSA in North Carolina, behind only Charlotte. The Queen City is estimated to have a population of 1.81 million people.
