1) What is the difference between 'For Lease' and 'For Rent'?
There isn't one! But make sure you talk to the landlord about all the same things, like rental rate, lease term, etc.
2) What is the difference between an 'Apartment' and a 'Condo"?
On the surface, nothing. On paper, a condominium is owned, whereas an apartment is leased.
3) What will you need from me?
After we find a place that will work for you, you will need to fill out an application. The application fee is $175, which is used to run a credit check as well as a bad check report. After we ca. Turning in your application and the $175 fee that accompanies it sooner, ensures that you have a better chance of being accepted for the place you want.
4) Can I have a pet?
It is ultimately up to the individual owners of the units, but most places will accept house broken pets (up to 75lbs) with a non-returnable pet fee. If you are interested in renting a condo, please make sure to ask one of our real estate professionals if the individual Homeowner's Association has specific restrictions.
5) What comes included with my rent?
Your rent payment will cover not only access to whatever amenities are available for that unit, but will also pay for water, sewer, recycling, and trash pickup. In many units the only other utility you are required to pay is electricity. Units with gas will also require payment. Cable, Internet, and Phone services are up to you!
6) What about parking?
Many units are going to have an equal number of parking spaces as they do bedrooms. Beyond that, street vs. driveway vs. garage parking, as well as visitor parking will vary depending on the unit. Make sure to ask about this before signing a lease.
